The first workshop of the DFG Research Network "Towards a History of Work in the Cultural Economy" will focus on the changing work ethics in the cultural economy and look at the motivation of cultural workers during the twentieth century. In doing so, current descriptions of work like “passionate work”, the "creative class" and the “entrepreneurial self” will be put to a historical test.
